Constantino, Richer, & Joslin Lead Sunday Night Fall Championship Winners. Titles On The Line Next Week!

September 10, 2017 (Fultonville, NY) – Not only was it NYSSCA night, but fall championships were in order; simply put double points are on the line whenever there is Spring, Mid-Summer, or Fall Championships on the schedule. Dave Constantino, Dave Richer, Ivan Joslin, Andy Graves, Chase Aussicker, Mike Hill, and Garrett Poland picked up wins. Next week track champions will be decided.

Jim Introne Jr. and Alissa Cody led the Crate Modified field to the green flag, with Introne taking the early lead. Ricky Quick moved into the runner up spot and set his sights on the leader, while Dave Constantino quickly moved from his 5th starting position to the top three with a pass on Cody and Curtis.

A series of early race cautions slowed the event forcing single file restarts, but that didn’t slow Tim Hartman Jr. down. The high flying 22 moved his way to the runner up spot, but had nothing for Constantino who would cruise home to the win. Hartman would finish second, while Rob Maxon had a solid night grabbing himself a third place finish. Point leader Chris Curtis cracked the top five with a fourth place run and Brian Calabrese rallied to finish fifth after early race woes including a trip to the tail of the field.

Limited Sportsman action saw Marty Kelly III take the early race lead and set sail towards what would appear to be another win. Behind him the big green 318 was moving fast, as Dave Richer stormed into the runner up spot by lap 10. Mikey Jackson fighting for every spot was battling inside the top five all night long, before the yellow flew for the 21 of Kelly who hooked bumpers with a lap car.

Tough lesson for the young gun to learn while leading, but it handed the lead to Dave Richer who never looked back grabbing his second win in a row. Bill August avoided misfortune despite making contact with the wall by finishing in the runner up spot. Jackson, Kelly who rallied from the tail, and Taylor O’Connor rounded out the top five.

Pro Stock was the tale of two races in just 20 laps Sunday, as early on it would appear young gun Kyle Hoard was on his way to victory. While Hoard led Ivan Joslin was working his way forward and once he made it to the runner up spot he quickly closed in on Hoard for the top spot. Just Knight and Luke Horning also having strong runs found themselves battling with Albany Saratoga competitor Norm Loubier for position inside the op five.

A series of mid-race yellows slowed the field, but that wasn’t stopping Josh Coonradt from working his way forward. By races end Joslin had taken the lead and run away for another feature win. Loubier crossed the line in the runner up position with Coonradt, Knight, and Horning rounding out the top five.

Andy Graves taking the lead from his car owner Chris Andrew has been a story told many times in 2017. This past Sunday in the 4-Cylinder Mini Stock division the kids nestled up to hear it once again, as Graves powered by to take another win home. PJ Bleau was in house and raced his way to a third place finish, while Colby Shepler and Damon Anderson rounded out the top five.

Street Stocks were on hand for another round of Full Fender Frenzy during NYSSCA night. Chase Aussicker is a perfect 3-0 at the Ridge this season after picking up another win. He had his hands full with the 08 of Lou Gancarz who came across the line second, while the high flying Bill Yager, double nickels of David Stickles, and crazy Curtis Condon rounded out the top five.

With point leaders Jim Pollard and Brian Tobey Jr. suffering DQ’s last week the Sling Shot point championship is wide open and the largest turnout of the season took place Sunday night at the fastest ¼ mile on dirt. Mike Hill has been a house of fire and picked up another win after battling with Dan Ballard early on. Ballard suffered mechanical issues, handing second place over to young Dylan Eldred. Spencer Cherko ran solid for a third place finish, while Scott Sprague and Andrew Millard rounded out the top five. Garrett Poland picked up the Jr. Sling Shot feature win.

Tom Coughlin was on hand to award NYSSCA bonuses to members in each of the weekly divisions. Tim Hartman Jr. (Crate Modified), Rob Maxon (Crate Modified), Bill August (Limited Sportsman), Ivan Joslin (Pro Stock), Josh Coonradt (Pro Stock), Chris Andrew (4-Cyl), PJ Bleau (4-Cyl), and Chase Aussicker (Street Stock) were awarded bonuses from the organization.

Next Sunday night is the moment some drivers have dreamed of. That moment they earn track championships. The Ridge will crown track champions in each weekly division. Crate Modifieds, Limited Sportsman, Pro Stock, 4-Cylinder Mini Stock, Sling Shot, and Jr. Sling Shot will all have celebrations on the front stretch following the night of racing as champions will emerge.
